the creature mystagogus colossus builds fungus gardens. it raises the fungi in body cavities. these cavities take up most of the body. it is a specialist of nutrition, since it lives exclusively off the metabolites of these fungi. its stride resembles a laborious dragging along of the body. the ribbon-like body is moved mostly passively by contraction and expansion of the entire corpus. every ligament also has internal muscles, which can shorten and bend it. due to the missing joints, this bending can occur at any point along the long side of the ligament. the males are very small compared to the females. they stick to the females, grow together with them and live as umbrella-shaped parasites without acquiring food on their own. a connection of both metabolisms develops and the male retrieves its nutrition from the substance cycle of the mate. the organs of the male degenerate. the organism serves only for reproduction.
