exhibition with works by the new professors of the fundamentals: bettina erzgräber, philip gaißer, julia kröpelin, reiner maria matysik and rolf wicker.

reiner maria matysik assembles a number of smaller and larger sculptures in the exhibition. they are reminiscent of plants, animals or human organs, as they are also shown as models in natural history museums. however, matysik anticipates a near future: the possibility of producing synthetic organisms. through his own naming and classification systems, he blurs the boundaries between fact and fiction.

the exhibition neu neu neu neu in the burg galerie im volkspark presents works by the newly appointed professors of the fundamentals. the constantly changing structure of a university of art changes not least through the change of its professors. thus, a major change is currently imminent at the burg giebichenstein university of art, founded in 1915, as within the next few years around half of the teaching staff will leave the university for reasons of age and be succeeded by new ones. the current exhibition offers an insight into this ongoing transformation, in which the five newly appointed professors of the fundamentals present themselves artistically: for the joint presentation in the university gallery, they have created new works or put existing works into a new context.
