als künstlerkurator lädt matysik sechs kollegen ein, die in ihren arbeiten pflanzliche organismen, botanische aspekte und biotechnologien sowie die archivierung und konservierung von pflanzen als zentrales feld gesellschaftlicher veränderung thematisieren. die gemeinsame ausstellung widmet sich dem durch die allgegenwärtig gewordenen technischen und manipulativen eingriffe in biologische strukturen hervorgerufenen wandel des pflanzenreichs sowie dessen bedeutung und bewertung. als initiator des konzepts begreift matysik dabei kunst als kommunikation und auseinandersetzung. er selbst stellt aus genteilen verschiedener pflanzen entwickelte prototypen zukünftigen lebens anhand eines rudels von modellen ähnlicher und zur interaktion fähiger postevolutionärer organismen zur diskussion, mit denen er die neugestaltung der pflanzenwelt simuliert. darüber hinaus bietet er ein pädagogisches vermittlungsprogramm für kinder an, eine art evolutionäre früherziehung, bei der stoffobjekte zukünftiger lebewesen zum einsatz kommen. rein assoziativ sollen diesen eigenschaften zugeordnet werden. ein paar der zum teil verblüffenden beschreibungen werden bereits in der ausstellung per video dokumentiert. as artist-curator, matysik invites six colleagues to take part in the exhibition whose works deal with plant organisms, botanical aspects and biotechnologies, as well as the archiving and preservation of plants as a central field of social change. the joint exhibition is dedicated to the transformation of the plant kingdom through the technical and manipulative interventions into biological structures that have become so ubiquitous, as well as the meaning and evaluation of this transformation. as the concept’s initiator, matysik sees art as a form of communication and confrontation. he personally exhibits prototypes of future life forms developed from the genetic components of various plants, presenting for discussion a horde of models of similar post-evolutionary organisms that are capable of interaction, and thereby simulating the redesigning of the plant world. he additionally offers an educational outreach program for children – a kind of early evolutionary education – employing stuffed fabric versions of future organisms that are to be ordered on a purely associative basis. a video shown in the exhibition already documents a few of these somewhat perplexing descriptions.
